Open to all amateur golfers. All entrants must be in good amateur standing according to the United States Golf Association.
Professionals as deemed by the USGA rules of golf will not be allowed to compete.
There are no separate divisions (i.e.: Women, Seniors).
The LDA reserves the right to verify any potential entrant's credentials and all decisions regarding a potential entrant's eligibility shall be made at LDA's sole discretion. LDA reserves the right to deny entry to any person at their sole discretion.
Entry: Entry fee is $20 US for 5 golf balls and possible "bonus ball"; this is considered one try. All competitors registering within the time specified of the local event will have a chance to hit.
Competitors may try more than once, however any competitor who has not yet hit for the first time must be allowed to hit before a competitor is allowed to hit for a second time.
Equipment: Drivers must be used at all local events, they may have no more than a maximum of 12.5 degrees of loft and conform to the COR and length standards set by the United States Golf Association.
All entrants shall hit Pinnacle Exception golf balls, which are supplied by Pinnacle at each local event.
Tees must be no longer than 4 inches and conform to the standards set by the United States Golf Association.
Qualified Drive: Drives which travel less than two hundred (200) yards shall not qualify as In-Grid Drives in any local competition.
Drives may land short of the two hundred (200) yard minimum distance and roll into the grid, but must land within the sidelines of the grid area and remain within the sidelines of the grid area. Drives which either (i) land outside the sidelines of the specified grid area and come to rest inside the grid area, (ii) land inside the sidelines of the grid area and leave and re-enter the grid area, or (iii) come to rest outside such specified grid area shall be disqualified. Any ball striking any object outside the grid area will not qualify, even if it comes to rest within the specified grid area. Drives on the line will be given the higher point value.

Each competitor will have 2 minutes and 30 seconds in which to hit five (5) balls and possible "bonus ball".
Competitors will be awarded points for finishing in certain parts of the grid.
Any competitor who hits the grid five (5) consecutive times will be awarded a bonus ball to try to increase their score.
In case of a tie, competitors will have a five (5) ball playoff at the end of the competition to determine the winner and/or second place ( for alternate purposes.) |
