HOW TO COMPETE - OPEN & SENIOR DIVISIONS
- Have a burning desire to hit golf balls hard
- Find a local qualifying site near you, Search the dates and sites for 2012 local qualifying here
- Consider entering multiple qualifiers, Super qualifiers and in multiple
regional championships to increase your chances for making it to the World Finals
- Local Winners Advance to 2nd Stage Regional Championship.
- Regional finalists advance to World Finals on ESPN

WHAT IS A WHAT IS A SUPER QUALIFIER? A
super qualifier saves competitors time and money by being able to
qualify for different regional championships without having to travel to
those specific states to compete in locals for that region
BUY-IN DIVISIONS - NO LOCAL AND REGIONAL QUALIFYING REQUIRED
These competitors pay a one time entry fee of $800 per division for their spot in the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship Powered by Dks Sporting Goods
World Finals for Buy In Divisions are October 16 - October 18, 2012 in Mesquite Nevada
DIVISIONS:
- Super Seniors (50 +) - DOB on or before the first day of competition
- Grand Champions (55 +) - DOB on or before the first day of competition
- Legends (60 +) - DOB on or before the first day of competition
- Masters (65+) - DOB on or before the first day of competition
- Ladies - No age restrictions (Anyone under the age of 18 must have consent from legal guardian)
YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER! - Registration dates will be announced shortly
- Compete in the RE/MAX WLDC finals OCTOBER 16-18, 2012 in Mesquite Nevada
- Exact schedule will be determined once registration is complete.
- You can and should compete in multiple divisions if eligible (Must meet age requirements)
- If the division minimums are not met, entry fees WILL be refunded and division will be cancelled
- A minimum of 12 entrants per division is required
- Payment of the entry fee is due at registration.

STEP 1: Local Qualifying(Open and Senior Divisions only)
- NO PREREGISTRATION AT LOCAL LEVEL. FIND A SITE, TEE IT UP AND GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT.
- All competitors must fill out an official entry form and pay the entry fee onsite prior to competing.
- Entry Fee $40 (for six balls)
- As competitors register, their name will be added to the Official Scoresheet and this will determine the hitting order for the day.
- If a competitor wishes to hit again, they may register for additional tries as time permits and pay the appropriate entry fee.
- Based on the number of tries at the local event, up to six winners may advance to the Regional Championship.
- In the OPEN Division, the first place winners of the Local qualifying events will be granted a bye into Round 2 at the Regional Qualifying Event. (DOES NOT APPLY TO SENIOR DIVISION)
- Competition grid will be approximately 40 - 50 yards wide and will begin at 250.
STEP 2: Regional Championship
- You are now one step away from qualifying for the World Finals and a chance stardom
- Winners from the local competition that advanced to a Regional Championship are notified by the LDA via email
- The date, time and location of the regional event can be found on the top right buttons on this page.
- Competitors are eligible to qualify in different Regions to increase the chances of reaching the Finals.
- Competitors must be pre-registered for the event at least ten days prior to the competition and must check in on-site prior to the start time.
- Specific details for each region will be provided in the player packet online and via email.
- A double elimination tournament format is used in all divisions at the regional level. The site director has the right to alter the format due to weather or
time constraints. Site director can also change the minimum yardage
required.
- The number of competitors that qualify for the RE/MAX World Finals will vary in each regional and is based on the actual number of on-site competitors
- All competitors are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.
- Dress Code for Local and Regional Events - All competitors must adhere to the host facility dress code. They must wear collared golf shirt (no tank tops), golf shorts or slacks (jeans or denim is not permitted). It is the responsibility of each competitor to know the dress code of the site.
- REGIONAL entry fees are $75.00 for LDA members and $150.00 for non-members (must be $249 membership)
STEP 3: The RE/MAX WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS
- If you have advance this far you are one of the power elite!
- You will a part of the Global ESPN telecast filmed before a live audience in Mesquite, Nevada Nov. 4, 2011
- Battle for a $500,000 purse and bragging rights.
- There is no entry fee at the world level in the Open and Senior Divisions who go through the qualifying process.
- All competitors must be pre-registered prior to the competition
OFFICIAL RULES for All LDA Sanctioned Events
Includes all Local, Regional, LDA Tour/member events and the World Championship.
- Only those clubs on the LDA Approved Conforming Club list are eligible for competition.
- All club heads must conform to USGA standards. Clubs must not appear on the USGA non-conforming list.
- All golf clubs must measure 50 (vertically at 90 degree angle) or less.
- Competitors have 2:45 to complete their set of six balls.
- All competitors will hit the provided official golf ball brand of the LDA, the Slazenger RAW.
- Tees must NOT be longer than 4 inches in length USGA approved
- USGA rules apply for the teeing ground, tee and intent to strike.
- A qualified drive must be a minimum of 275 yards for the Open Division and 250 yards for the Senior Division and is measured from the tee line to the farthest point of the golf ball.
- Proper golf etiquette is required during all levels of the competition. At no time will disorderly conduct, abusive language, intoxication, possession of firearms, and/or possession or use of an illegal substance be tolerated. Violations of this rule shall be cause for immediate expulsion from the event and forfeiture of all monies paid.
